Case study · TierWelt

Animals and nature,
in print and online.

TierWelt is the Swiss magazine for animals and nature. Its website runs on our editorial system — with the e-paper and a direct import from the print system.

The brief

A magazine
with a newsroom behind it.

TierWelt appears in print and online. The editorial team wanted the website to carry what it already produces for the magazine — without doing the work a second time.

The design came from BUERGY. We built the system underneath.

What we did

Print, web and e-paper
in one flow.

01

An editorial system for a magazine

Articles, topics and dossiers such as the breed portraits are managed in one editorial system, built around how a newsroom works.

02

Import from the print system

What is produced for the magazine reaches the website through an import from the print system. Nobody copies articles across by hand.

03

The e-paper, by MADLAB

Every issue is available as an e-paper, to browse by magazine, month and year.

The result

The magazine lives on
between issues.

Stories from the print edition stay findable online and are gathered into dossiers, while the e-paper keeps every issue within reach.

Let’s talk

A magazine that should
live online too?

When print and web come from one source, the newsroom spends its time on stories instead of on copying them.
