Privacy.
What data is collected when you visit this website, what we use it for and what rights you have.
Controller
The controller responsible for processing personal data on this website is:
MADLAB GmbH
Seftigenstrasse 310
3084 Wabern
Switzerland
hello@madlab.ch · +41 31 515 00 00
You can send questions about data protection to this address at any time.
Principles
We process personal data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We only collect what is needed to run the website, answer enquiries and understand how the site is used. We do not sell data.
Hosting and server logs
The website runs on servers we operate ourselves in the Bern region. When a page is requested, the web server stores technically necessary information: IP address, date and time, requested address, referring page, browser and operating system. This data is used for secure and stable operation, is not combined with other data and is deleted after a short time.
Contact form
When you write to us using the form, we send your name, email address, message and – if provided – company and phone number by email to our inbox. We use this information solely to answer your enquiry and keep it only as long as needed for that purpose and for statutory retention obligations.
To protect against spam, the server stores a non-reversible hash of your IP address and a single-use form token for a few hours. No cookies are set and no third parties are involved.
Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, and Google LLC, USA. Google Analytics sets cookies and records how the website is used: pages viewed, time spent, approximate origin, device and browser. We use this to compile statistics that help us improve the website.
Google Analytics 4 does not store full IP addresses. However, data may be transferred to Google servers in the USA. More information in Google’s privacy policy.
You can prevent tracking by blocking cookies in your browser or by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Map on the contact page
On the contact page we show a map from OpenStreetMap. As soon as you scroll to the map, your browser loads the Leaflet map library from cdnjs (Cloudflare, Inc., USA) and the map tiles from the OpenStreetMap Foundation (United Kingdom). These providers receive your IP address and technical information about your browser. More information: OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy, Cloudflare privacy policy.
Local time and weather
In the header of the pages we show the local time and current weather in Wabern. For this, your browser queries the weather service Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com) at most every 20 minutes and transmits your IP address. Only the coordinates of our office are requested, not your location.
Local storage
The website itself does not set any cookies. In your browser’s local storage (localStorage) we only keep the language you selected and the most recently retrieved weather. This information never leaves your browser and can be deleted in your browser settings at any time.
Transfers abroad
Through Google (USA), Cloudflare (USA) and the OpenStreetMap Foundation (United Kingdom), data may reach countries outside Switzerland. According to the Swiss Federal Council, the United Kingdom provides an adequate level of data protection. For the USA we rely on the providers’ certification under the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or on standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
You can request information about the personal data we hold about you and have it corrected or deleted. You can object to processing and request that your data be handed over to you. An informal message to hello@madlab.ch is all it takes.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or the data protection authority of your country of residence.
Changes
We update this policy when the website or the legal situation changes. The version published here applies.
