Just not easily.
The old site held a great deal of information, and it managed — but with time it became increasingly awkward. It looked its age, and content had accumulated over the years without the structure keeping up.
What was needed was an appearance that matches the organisation: serious, calm, easy to read — and friendly enough that a candidate looking at an exam registration is willing to stay and look around.
Sorted first,
then designed.
Who is this for?
Together with the client we sorted, shortened and rearranged. Which information addresses whom? What has to be visible immediately, what may sit further in? The main areas — examination, modules, module providers, FAQ, news, documents — were prepared so that people find what they came for.
A modular kit in TYPO3
Clear structures, calm typography and a visual language that fits a professional body. The office has all the building blocks it needs to maintain content itself and add new pages consistently.
Tidied underneath as well
Current TYPO3 version, current PHP version, a clean base for the coming years. The kind of work nobody sees and everybody notices when it was skipped.
Found,
not fought through.
The information did not get smaller — it got ordered. Candidates, module providers and authorities each take a different route through the same site, and none of them has to read what is meant for the others.
