Case study · Laserjet 2000 AG

Where steel is
cut with light.

A precision engineering firm in Bösingen, with a website from the early 2000s — running on a server nobody dared to switch off.

The brief

An old site holding
a server hostage.

The previous site was mostly static HTML with a pinch of CSS — technically and visually a child of the early 2000s. The real problem sat underneath: the machine it ran on was long overdue for retirement, but could not be replaced, because the site needed resources and configurations that newer servers no longer offer.

For a company working with modern laser, waterjet and CNC technology, that was an awkward shop window. And the content only scratched the surface of the expertise that sits in the company.

What we did

A kit, not
a set of pages.

01

Modular in TYPO3

Every section of a page is its own content element — hero slider, industry overview, text and image, service lists, call to action. Pages get assembled instead of built, and stay consistent without anyone policing them.

02

A deep dive into the trade

Every service, from laser cutting through trovalising to the FLADDER® process, was written out in detail and illustrated. The industry pages — sheet metal, steel construction, mechanical engineering, medical technology — were expanded so visitors land where they belong.

03

Photographed on site

The team pictures were taken in the production hall itself, then edited to match the visual style of the rest of the site. Stock photography of somebody else's factory would have been the wrong answer here.

The result

Technical, with a
pinch of playfulness.

Modern, clear, and finally on a par with what the company actually delivers. New content can be added without calling anyone, and the site no longer dictates which server it may live on.

The old machine, after years of being irreplaceable, was allowed to retire.

In their words

“Our old website was about as modern as our first machine.”

It had its merits, but it was time for something new. MADLAB built us a presence that matches what we do every day: precise, tidy and up to date.

An old site holding
something back?

It usually costs more than it looks — in server bills, in workarounds, and in the impression it leaves.
